Practical and Tactical Drill Held at the Academy
From 1 to 30 September, the national "Fire Awareness" month is being held across the country. As part of the campaign, the Tashkent city territorial department and divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are holding practical and tactical drills in the academic buildings and student dormitories of all higher education institutions. One such drill, held at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, once again called on students, staff and faculty to stay vigilant.
It is no accident that our people say: "Fire is an enemy without a tongue." Today, in an era of global warming, when we use more and more electrical appliances in daily life, preventing fires and strictly observing safety rules is more important than ever. Young people in particular — the country's future, standing on the threshold of independent life — must be extremely alert, attentive and responsible in this regard.
The practical and tactical drill organised at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan served exactly this purpose.
A large number of modern special rescue vehicles and personnel were involved in the event, which ensured that the drill was carried out at a high level in conditions as close to real as possible.
During the exercise, a simulated fire at the site was first put out with special equipment and the rapid actions of rescuers. Then the simulated casualties left inside the building were evacuated to a safe area and given first aid. Officials also inspected the water sources on site — fire hydrants — and checked that special vehicles could move without obstruction. At the end of the event, building staff and students received the necessary instructions and explanations on strictly following fire safety rules in everyday life.
It should be noted that such events proved extremely useful for young people. Demonstration drills like this broaden students' understanding of how to behave in emergencies and help raise their vigilance in everyday life. After all, vigilance is a requirement of our time, and safety is the guarantee of peace and our health!
