A Practical On-Site Class on Criminal Procedure Law Organized for Jurisprudence Students

Aiming to enhance the quality of legal education, closely integrate theoretical knowledge with practice, and develop the professional competencies of future lawyers, a practical on-site class on "Criminal Procedure Law" was organized for the students of groups 105-24 and 104-25 in the "Jurisprudence" program at the Academy of Labour and Social Relations. The session was led by Huriniso Niyozalieva, assistant lecturer of the department, at a Tashkent city court institution.

The main purpose of this class was to reinforce students' theoretical knowledge in a practical environment regarding criminal proceedings, the main stages of trial, the rights and obligations of process participants, courtroom conduct regulations, and the organizational and legal foundations of justice.

During the on-site session, students familiarized themselves with the layout of the courtroom, the seating arrangement of the trial participants, and the conditions created for organizing court proceedings. The practical significance of key criminal procedure principles—such as legality, adversarial proceedings, equality of arms, the presumption of innocence, and the right to defense—was thoroughly reinforced.

Throughout the practical training, special attention was paid to the general procedure of the trial, the duties of the presiding judge, the procedural roles of the public prosecutor and defense counsel, the examination of evidence, and the substantiation of court decisions. Students had the opportunity to exchange views on questions of interest and compare the topics studied with the real courtroom environment.

This class serves to develop students' skills in independent legal analysis, applying a legislative perspective to procedural situations, and understanding the requirements of professional communication and judicial ethics. In particular, directly observing organizational processes inside the courtroom helps deepen their understanding of the practical essence of theoretical knowledge.

Organizing such on-site practical classes for law students is a vital factor in strengthening the integration of education and practice, increasing students' interest in their future profession, and improving the quality of training qualified legal specialists.
